The Women Who Rock awards honour trailblazing women in Canada who have made a lasting impact through their achievements and desire to make a difference. Whether as business leaders, politicians, researchers, artists or activists, these women of impact have helped shape communities in various ways.
The awards recognize six local women in Hamilton who are making an impact in the community. The event is held to commemorate Women's History Month in Canada during October.
This year's keynote speaker at the event was Janette Smith, the new City Manager for the City of Hamilton. Smith has extensive experience in public service, serving in various senior leadership roles at the Region of Peel for the past two decades.
Representing Ethical Associates Inc. at the awards was Laura Wilson-Lewis, who presented several of the awards, along with Evelyn Myrie of EmPower Strategy Group who organized the event.
