Samantha has also provided training on workplace health and safety, accommodation of psychological disabilities, due diligence for occupational health and safety, and the duty to accommodate, to human resources staff and supervisors.

Samantha Seabrook uses a candid and equitable approach to investigations and conciliation that engenders the trust and respect of all parties. Samantha draws on her experience as a labour and employment lawyer to drive a fair and open investigation process.

In her legal practice, Samantha works with public sector employers, including universities, school boards, municipalities, and police services. Her practice focuses on workplace harassment, workplace violence, accommodation, and health and safety matters. Samantha assists her clients by developing policies on these topics to comply with legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act workplace violence, harassment and investigation provisions, and the Human Rights Code. Samantha has also conducted workplace investigations addressing allegations of:
 

  • Workplace harassment;

  • Workplace violence;

  • Sexual assault;

  • Discrimination based on disability; and

  • Hostile work environment.

 

In addition to conducting workplace investigations, Samantha has also developed and provided training on conducting workplace investigations. She has provided this training to human resources staff at universities and school boards, as well as private sector clients. Samantha has also provided training on workplace health and safety, accommodation of psychological disabilities, due diligence for occupational health and safety, and the duty to accommodate, to human resources staff and supervisors.

 

Prior to joining Ethical Associates, Samantha practiced at two leading labour and employment law firms. Samantha graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and is called to the Bar of Ontario. She is a trained investigator and specializes in trauma-informed investigations of sexual violence and harassment matters under Bill 132.
