Roster of Independent Practitioners

Runako Gregg
Mediator, Investigator

He recently served as Legal Counsel with the Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre where he represented complainants during mediations and hearings with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Runako Gregg is a human rights lawyer and workplace investigator who specializes in discrimination and harassment issues, with an emphasis on anti-racism initiatives. He recently served as Legal Counsel with the Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre where he represented complainants during mediations and hearings with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

 

Runako was also Counsel and a Senior Policy Analyst with the Ontario Human Rights Commission where he worked to advance the Commission’s interventions at the Human Rights Tribunal as well as other administrative tribunals and courts. He also engaged affected participants towards drafting the Commission’s interim report, entitled A Collective Impact, in its inquiry into racial profiling and racial discrimination of Black persons in policing.

 

Prior to his work within Ontario’s human rights system, Runako was a staff lawyer with the African Canadian Legal Clinic where he represented racialized individuals in several prominent matters before various courts and tribunals, and participated in legal drafting, conflict resolution and anti-racism advocacy. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and is completing his PhD (ABD) in Social and Political Thought at York University.
