Kabir Ravindra
Mediator, Investigator, Adjudicator

He has a designation as a Workplace Fairness Analyst, a certificate in Negotiation from Harvard Law School, an Advanced Certificate in Adjudication from Osgoode Hall Law School, a certificate in Workplace Restoration from the ADR Institute of Ontario.

Kabir Ravindra is a professional mediator, adjudicator and human rights lawyer, having been called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002. He recently served as an independent adjudicator for the Indian Residential Schools Adjudication Secretariat, which was the quasi-judicial process for confidential claims by individual Indigenous survivors of the residential school system in Canada, running in conjunction with the more public-facing Truth and Reconciliation Commission. As one of the more active adjudicators on this unique specialized tribunal, Kabir resolved some 500 residential schools abuse claims claims between 2010 and 2019, when the tribunal began to be wound down.

Kabir was also an Adjudicator with the Social Justice Tribunals of Ontario, where he served on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board for 10 years. Most recently, he was appointed to the Parole Board of Canada in spring 2020.

 

Kabir received degrees in both Common Law and Civil Law from McGill University, and pursued human rights and globalization studies at the Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands. He has a designation as a Workplace Fairness Analyst, a certificate in Negotiation from Harvard Law School, an Advanced Certificate in Adjudication from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario.

Kabir is a Dedicated Neutral and has a consulting practice in mediation, investigation and adjudication with Ethical Associates Inc.
